Senior Airman Adam P. Servais, 23, died Saturday, Aug. 19, 2006, in Afghanistan of injuries received in combat.

Adam was born Sept. 1, 1982, in La Crosse, to Pete and Susan (Tracey) Servais. He was a 2001 graduate of Onalaska High School.

Adam joined the Air Force in June 2002 and earned his combat controller red beret in June 2003. He entered advanced skills training at Hurlburt Field, Fla., and graduated Sept. 24, 2004. Upon graduation, Adam was assigned to the 23rd Special Tactics Squadron and was a member of the United States Air Force Special Operations Unit.

Adam is survived by his parents, Pete and Susan Servais of Onalaska; one sister, Laura (Matthew) Ley of Chicago; his maternal grandmother, Marie Tracey of Mindoro; his paternal grandmother, Louise Servais of La Crosse; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Harry Tracey; and his paternal grandfather, Rudy Servais.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Onalaska.
