Major Arlon H. Jahnke Augusta, GA – Major Arlon H. Jahnke, formally of Appleton, WI and currenty residing in Augusta, GA, returned to his heavenly home on April 02, 2018 at the age of 83. Arlon was born to Ida Hooyman and August Jahnke on January 21, 1935, in Appleton, WI. He joined the US Air force in 1954 and served until 1975. He served three tours in Viet Nam and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and a Purple Heartamong various other commendations.
Arlon is survived by his wife of 22 years Janet Sharp Jahnke. Together they enjoyed traveling, sailing, fishing, and spending time with their extensive blended family of 8 children, 17 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
A celebration of life with military honors was held May 5, 2018 at the American Legion #192.
