Bradley P. Norton, 49, of Bernon Street died Wednesday July 20 at home.
Born in Pawtucket, a son of Barbara (Pearson) Garrett of Lincoln and the late Barrie M. Norton, Sr., he grew up in Cumberland and had lived in Hawaii, the Philippines and Korea before moving back to Rhode Island 5 years ago.
Mr. Norton was a serviceman in the U.S. Air Force Special Forces for 10 years from 1982-1992. He was involved in the Grenada invasion as a part of the original crew that secured the airport in Grenada.
In 1975, he was a member of the first graduating class and class president of Davies Vocational Technical School, Lincoln.
Besides his mother, he is survived by 2 daughters, Aja Norton of Cumberland and Gina Norton-Santos of Hawaii; 4 sisters, Beverly Norton of Lincoln, Barbara L. Frank of Wilmington, OH, Brenda L. Gelinas of Glen Mills, PA and Beth C. Mitchell of Providence; 4 brothers, Barrie M. Norton, Sr. of Heidelberg, Germany, Brett Norton of Lincoln, Robert T. Norton of Newton, MA and Bryan T. Norton of New York City, NY; 1 granddaughter, Mira Maccarone of Cumberland; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held July 26 from Bellows-Falso Funeral Chapel. Burial with military honors was held in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
