Charles W. Mason II, born on December 19, 1946, in Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on July 23, 2022. He was the beloved son of Charles and Thelma Mason. Charles is survived by three younger sisters: Elizabeth Brock (Kevin Brock), Kathleen Tsalopoulos (Takis Tsalopoulos), and the late Susan Mason (Renea Forrest).
Charles pursued higher education in California before dedicating a portion of his life to serving in the United States Air Force as a combat controller. Following his military service, he returned to college in Illinois, showcasing his commitment to continuous learning and personal development.
A loving father, Charles is survived by four daughters: Kimberly Mullin (Chris Mullin), Mackenzie Griffin (John Griffin), M.C Lewers (Matt Lewers), and Laura Dobson (Joshua Dobson). His legacy extends to eight adoring grandchildren: Braidon, Allona, Joshua Jr, and Oakley Dobson; Millie and Ellie Griffin; Parker and Avery Lewers. Charles became a proud grandfather in 2004 and cherished every moment with his growing family.
In addition to his family, Charles had a passion for life that manifested in his love for travel, fishing, cooking, reading, teaching, and connecting with new people. Known for his significant sense of humor, Charles brought joy and laughter to those around him.
As we mourn the loss of Charles W. Mason II, we also celebrate the rich tapestry of his life—a life filled with love, laughter, and a profound impact on those fortunate enough to know him. May his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who had the privilege of sharing in his journey.
