Entered Into Eternal Rest
2024-12-18

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Donald G. Peters, a beloved husband of Mary Beth Curran, a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Don peacefully passed away on December 18, 2024, in his home at the age of 71, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, love, and unshakable generosity.

He was a devoted father of Amy Peters and Sam Peters, and the adored grandfather of Amelie, Isabelle, and Archer. His family was everything to him and he deeply cherished his role as a father, grandfather, husband, brother, uncle, and lovingly embraced Mary Beth’s family as his own.

Don was born on October 13, 1953, in Saint Louis, MO to the late Gerald and Virginia Peters (nee Mard) and he shared a loving bond with his siblings — Bob Peters, Mary Ellen Factor, Richard Peters, Joan Smith and the late Gerald Peters.

Don had an incredible gift of giving, always putting others before himself. His spirit was marked by a generosity that knew no limits — whether lending a helping hand or offering a listening ear. His kindness was his most defining quality and his life was a testament to his unwavering compassion. He always had a smile on his face and a comforting word to share, making everyone feel valued and loved.

A proud veteran, Don served in the U.S. Air Force from 1972 – 1981, where he gained a love for travel and adventure that stayed with him throughout his life. He had a distinguished career continuing to work in multiple capacities for the Department of the US Air Force. He received numerous awards throughout his career.

He faced all of life’s challenges with resilience and humor, and his favorite responses to life’s ups and downs were simple yet profound: “Good,” “Right,” and “Great.”

Don’s infectious personality and warm heart created deep, lasting friendships. His playful nature brought joy to everyone around him, leaving a legacy of laughter and love in its wake. His family and friends will continue to celebrate his life and the love he shared with them.

Though Don will be missed, his memory will remain forever in our hearts. His life serves as a reminder of the power of kindness, love, generosity, and the strength of family.

Memorial visitation at Mary, Mother of the Church 5901 Kerth Rd. 63128 on Tuesday, January 21 from 10:15 am until Memorial Mass time at 11:00 am. Interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with military honors.
