The earliest military order that Ernie forwarded to me was a copy of an order while he was stationed at Sewart AFB, TN that was dated January 16, 1957. If I recall correctly, he graduated from Officers Candidate School after being assigned to Sewart and subsequently graduated from Air Force Pilot Training. He became a C-130 command pilot who flew many missions in Viet Nam. Ive spoken and corresponded with Ernie numerous times. The first time that I met Ernie was probably during 1994 when he and Fran attended the first get-together that I set-up in Nashville. Each and every contact that I had with him has always been positive in every way. He was Life Member 195 of the Combat Control Association and always ready to do whatever was asked of him.
