Hall, an 18-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, died of natural causes April 22 at the Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center at Lackland AFB, TX. He served as the NCOIC of the Combat Control Team here since April 1980.

Hall was in the A Shau Valley with the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam with the besieged marines at Khe Sanh in March 1968, in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, during the resupply and evacuation with the Special Forces at Katum in Korea; Bangladesh and others.  Johnny went where his country needed him and he distinguished himself in every instance.  In combat, he was the epitome of the professional soldier.   His superiors and subordinates relied upon him and he never let us down.

More than three years service was spent in Southeast Asia by the Sanger, Calif., native.

His awards and decorations included the Bronze Star with a "V" device and two Oak Leaf Clusters, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry. Hall is survived by his mother, father and a brother who all reside in the United States.
