Nathan E. "Gene" Hoover passed on April 22, 2001 of a heart attack at the age of 56. Gene graduated from the Combat Control School during 1970 while assigned to the 62nd Aerial Port Squadron at McChord AFB where he was a ground radio repairman. He was a member of the McChord Team that competed in the 1971 Rodeo. During 1975 he was assigned to a Tactical Air Control Party in Germany and subsequently retired from the Air Force during December of 1983.
