WINTER HAVEN – SMSGT (Ret.) Robert B. Mahaffey II, died at 77 Feb 21, 2021 of heart failure. He was a member of the US Air Force, Special Operations – 1960-1981. Korea, Africa, So America & Central America, Vietnamin combat 1967-1968. He was an Air Traffic Controller at Patrick AF Base and was stationed in several AF Bases around the US.
He is survived by his wife Diane Mahaffey of 14 yrs, step daughters Kelly Belinsky of Ma, Kimberly Strong (deceased) and stepson Scott Jones of NH, wife Edith (deceased) for 44 yrs, sons Bryant & Stephen, both of Rockledge Fl, grandchildren: Britney, Madison, Melanie, Megan and Madeleine all of Brevard County, Brandon of Tallahassee, sister Sharon Wells of Queensbury, NY, nieces, nephews and a lot of friends.
He was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church, Winter Haven. He defied all odds, surviving 3 open heart surgeries and other related surgeries for 40 yrs. Bob was an instigator, loved to make people laugh and took pride in making our house into a home.
Celebration of Life will be at Calvary Baptist Church, 2101 Overlook Dr, Winter Haven Fl, 33884 Sat. March 13-Visitation 10 am; Service at 11. No refreshment after due to Covid. MASKS are mandatory!
Burial at Florida Memorial Gardens, Rockledge, Fl – Family only.
