Cheffins, Robert Hugh Age 72, of Nashville, TN, passed away June 9 2006, after a courageous battle with cancer. Survived by his wife of nearly 54 years, Beverly; daughter, Terry Cheffins; daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl & Steve Sulc, Kim & Mike Nichols; grandchildren, Michelle Bailey, Jessica Gunter, Elaine & Ben Sulc, and Hannah Nichols; and great-grandson Patrick Gunter. <br />

He served 20 years in the United States Air Force as Air Traffic and Combat Controller, which included a tour of duty in Vietnam. Upon retiring from the Air Force, he had a successful career of 25 years in the Air Traffic Control and Air Show Business. <br />
<br />
A native of Pittsburgh, PA, Robert moved to TN in 1985. A private Graveside Service with Military Honors was held at Nashville National Cemetery, Madison, TN on June 14, 2006.<br />
<br />
TSTG Cheffins served 20 years in between the U.S. Air Force, Army and Navy, and served in Korean and Vietnam wars. He served with total dedication and devotion as a Combat Controller at numerous locations around the world. Some are:<br />

Robert was laid to rest in Madison TN at the Nashville National Cememtery.
