Dear Members of the Combat Control Association,
It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of Robert "Bob" Heflin, a cherished member of the Combat Control Team (CCT) brotherhood.
According to his wife of 30 years, Joann, Bob passed away peacefully at 10:28 a.m. on March 4, 2025, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by friends who loved him dearly.
Bob's enduring commitment to his CCT family was evident in the love and admiration he held for each one of his teammates. His legacy of dedication, service, and camaraderie will forever remain a source of inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
As we process this loss together, Joann has asked that we await further details regarding Bob's service, which will be shared later. In the meantime, we can honor his memory by reflecting on the contributions he made, not only to our community but to the lives of those around him.
On behalf of all who mourn Bob’s loss, we extend our deepest condolences to his family and friends. May we continue to uphold the spirit of unity and support that Bob exemplified throughout his life.
